Alvin Queen drummed for the legendary Oscar Peterson until the pianist’s passing in 2007.  Alvin’s trajectory through the more rarified reaches of the jazz hierarchy might have been apparent as early as 1963 when he sat in with Coltrane’s band at the age of 12.  Other associates during his illustrious career include Dizzy Gillespie, Dexter Gordon and Wynton Marsalis.
